OGC Nice has won the 2025-2026 Pitch Championship, a historic edition for the competition. The best pitch in Ligue 1, OGC Nice has obtained a weighted average of 18.42/20. This victory comes to slightly redeem the end of the season for the club, which played its Ligue 1 maintenance in a playoff against Saint-Étienne (0-0, 4-1). According to the LFP study, it is Nancy that possesses the best pitch in France, with a weighted average of 19.11/20, followed in Ligue 2 by US Boulogne CO (18.49) and AS Saint-Étienne (18.44). In Ligue 1, it is therefore Nice that possesses the best pitch with a weighted average of 18.42. Metz (18.22) and Nantes (18.19) complete the French elite's podium for the 2025-2026 season. The LFP also notes that the general average of the pitches has never been as high since the creation of the Championship in 2013 with an average score of 17.82, and no club with an average below 16/20. The pitches are evaluated on many criteria such as the ball's trajectory on the ground or the quality of the supports for the referees and the clubs, and for example the color or the design of the mowing for the television realization.
